Montpelier Bus Riding Families,
We are absolutely excited to be back at school! We wanted to go over a couple of items for those that utilize our bus service. We ask for your help in this as we want to provide all students with safe and reliable transportation.
Bus Drivers:
701-320–0184 – Stacy Peckham – Rural Ypsi and northeast Monty –
701-269-1653 – Melissa Marshall – Millerton and south Monty –
701-341-1831 – Marla Haugen – Jamestown Subway
701-490-7033 – Richard Wright – Additional Jamestown
701-490-0597 – Phil Leitner/Others – Additional Jamestown
Route Details:
Jamestown Subway Route – Our bus arrives at Subway at 7:30 and leaves at 7:50 before school on a regular school day. After school the bus arrives at Subway approximately at 3:50-4:00 (please be flexible) on a regular school day. Please be aware that Ms. Haugen is unable to drive on the first two days of school and we will use two 14 passenger buses to provide Jamestown Subway transportation. Please be patient with us during these days.
Rural Ypsi and northeast Monty – Driver will be contacting you once route is finalized, but it might not be until Monday.
Millerton and south Monty – Driver will be contacting you once route is finalized, but it might not be until Monday.
Additional Jamestown Routes – Drivers will contact you once routes are finalized, but might not be until Monday.
Points of Emphasis for Riders:
No food or drink on the bus – Students are not allowed to eat food or drink on the bus. Water brought in a secured water bottle is allowed to be consumed on the bus. Any items brought on the bus must be in a sealed container or original packaging and not opened during the bus route.
Proper bus behavior – Students should be seated the entire time when riding the bus. Please no loud noises or throwing items etc. If there is a problem with another student on the bus for your child please contact the driver of the bus. We do not want anyone to have a bad experience on our bus routes, so please communicate any issues so they can be addressed.
Be on time – Our bus routes are very full and each person riding in them needs to be on time or it slows the route down significantly. This affects school breakfast for students and makes them late for classes. Please be ready in advance to help out our drivers. We will do our best to keep on time, but there are many factors that can lead to delays. Our general guideline is we will wait a maximum of 3 minutes for each child to enter the bus, but it is very much appreciated to be on time rather than having to wait. Each bus driver has been instructed to leave if a student does not enter the bus after waiting 3 minutes. The Jamestown Subway bus will leave at 7:50 every day.
Bus cleanliness – Please do not leave any items on the bus or bring trash etc. Our goal is to keep our vehicles clean and anything you can do to help is appreciated.
Additional Note:
If you have any questions please call the school and we will be happy to help you. Thank you for your time and cooperation. We have great students and families and are going to have a great school year. Go Martins!!!
